NORMA JEAN: New Video Interview Posted Online
May 28, 2010Russell "Evil G." Johnson of BareBonesMusic.com recently conducted an interview with Chris Day (guitar) and Jake Schultz (bass) of Atlanta-based post-hardcore rockers NORMA JEAN. You can now watch the chat below.
NORMA JEAN will release its fifth album, "Meridional", on July 13 via Razor & Tie. Shortly after the release, the band will head out on the road on the Rockstar Mayhem Festival, playing the "Mayhem Festival Stage" with ATREYU, IN THIS MOMENT and 3 INCHES OF BLOOD.
Regarding the new CD's artwork, vocalist Cory Brandan recently told AOL's Noisecreep, "We take a lot of pride in all the art we use. Every record has a certain vibe, and we always want the artwork to represent that same energy.
"This record has a very specific, very dark feel throughout and I know that of any record we've ever released, this is definitely the best artwork we've ever had.
"The art was done by Jason Oda of Starvingeyes.com. I've been a fan of his work for years, and it was really awesome to have him working with us."
NORMA JEAN has released four albums to date, with combined sales of over 360,000 copies. The band's last album, "The Anti Mother", debuted at #29 on the Billboard Top 200 Album Chart and received rave reviews, with Alternative Press calling it "ambitious and addictive." The CD featured Page Hamilton of HELMET as well as a collaboration with DEFTONES frontman Chino Moreno.
